Chinoki Allows you to #PickYourDeal from Local Businesses #Cbias

Recently, my husband and I have been trying to have as many date nights as possible before baby bear arrives this fall. I think we feel like with three kids, getting out is going to start becoming a tad bit more complex than it is now so we’re trying our best to get more time out of the house together while we can. We’re beyond incredibly lucky that our boys have a few relatives close by that can come watch them while we are out at a movie or dinner (or, gasp, sometimes both)!

A short while ago, I became a member of a free, local deal site called Chinoki. The premise of Chinoki is that you can ‘cherry pick’ your deals rather than just signing up for every deal that is offered in your area like some of the other deal sites.

Signing up was easy – I just logged on to the Chinoki site, entered very basic information and selected if I wanted to receive my deals via email or text.

The next step is to select businesses (merchants) in your area that you are interested in receiving deals/coupons from when available. These businesses include restaurants, spas, stores… pretty much any category you can think of is listed here! What’s great about picking the businesses you wish to receive deals from is that you can choose as many or as few as you like, but you won’t get spammed with random offers that are not of interest to you.

I received a text message saying that a deal from one of my selected businesses, The Prime Rib, was offering me a deal. I selected the link that was provided and was directed to a site that provided me the deal information.

My deal sent by Chinoki directly to my phone!

I clicked the link and was able to view my deal directly. This is what I also provided to The Prime Rib to claim my deal.

For those that are more comfortable using the email option versus texting, I was also able to see this same information when logged on to my laptop under the My Specials tab.

The special being offered to me. To drill down into more detail, just select the View icon (eye) to the right of the deal.

The details of the deal offered can be seen here, as well as the expiration date.

We took advantage of having a babysitter (and a deal) and headed to the city to try out The Prime Rib, a restaurant we had never visited. It was delicious! I can’t wait to see how the offerings from Chinoki expand and what other great deals are in my future!

We had a great night dining out, and even strolled the city for a short bit to walk off some of our fabulous meal! You can view our entire experience via my Google+ album.

That dinner looks delicious! Excuse me while I sign up for deals from The Prime Rib! :) We’ve never been there before either, but it looks like a perfect dinner for a special night out. Glad you had fun – and got a great deal at the same time. Thanks for sharing.
